As many of you know, my solution for the Sonos Controller 4.3 didn’t work with the Version 5 of the sonos controller. However with the new version 5.1 witch was released a few days ago, I found a sloution again, if you’d already setup your sonos system with an android or iOS phone or tablet.
First install wine and PlayOnLinux.
$ sudo apt-get install wine $ sudo apt-get install playonlinux
Download the newest version of the Sonos Controller application for Windows.
Start playonlinux and click « install a program »
A new window will open, choose « Install a non listed program » at the bottom Again, a dialogue opens. Select « Install a program in a new virtual drive », give the virtual drive a name like « sonos » or whatever you want. Disable all check boxes on the next page and choose 32-bit installation.
Browse to the Sonos Controller executable and click next.
